From July 30th to August 1st of 2019, a delegation with 24 people from Cuba came to the Institute of Coastal Agriculture of HAAFS and had a 2-day training and field tour. The delegation members were all the participants of the Seminar on the Design, Management and Analysis of Agricultural Projects and the Role of South-South Cooperation in Promoting Agricultural Development. This is a China aid foreign training project organized by the International Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs. Led by Ms. MARICELA DIAZ RODRIGUEZ of Cuban Ministry of Agriculture, the delegation listened to the reports made by Prof. Zhang Qixing, Prof. Wang Xiuping, Prof. Wang Wencheng and Prof. Zhang Guoxin, respectively on the Rice Production Technology in the Saline-Alkali Soil of Hebei Coastal Area; Saline-Alkali Land Agriculture Production Pattern and Techniques; The Integrated Improving and Vegetation Establishment on Muddy Heavy Saline-Alkali Land; and Fruit and Vegetable Production Technology with Protected Cultivation in the Saline-Alkali Land of Hebei Coastal Areas. They also visited the laboratories and research station of the Coastal Agriculture Institute; the Juxiang Rice Professional Cooperative of Caofeidian District; Liangniu Agricultural S&T Co. Ltd. of Hebei; the Caofeidian Wetland Nature Preserve; the Tianxu Ecological Agriculture Co. Ltd. of Caofeidian District; and the Xujing Agricultural S&T Co. Ltd. of Caofeidian District. During the discussion of both sides, the leaders from the Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba showed great interests to the research achievements of Hebei in coastal saline-alkali soil utilization and expressed their strong willingness for further cooperation. At the end of the visit, the two sides reached the consensus to join hands and make efforts to accelerate the future practical collaboration.
