Invited by President Zhang Tielong, a delegation of 5 members from Malaysia Agriculture Research and Development Institute (MARDI), led by Dr.Mohamad R.M. Noor, visited HAAFS from November 23 to 27, 2019.
President Zhang Tielong and Vice President Sun Shigang met with the delegation. They have conducted in-depth and effective communication about staff exchange, talent cultivation, cooperative research, germplasm resources exchange, intellectual property and transformation of achievements.
Focusing on fields of interest, the delegation also visited the Institute of Cereal and Oil Crops, the Institute of Vegetables and Medical Herbs and the Institute of Plant Protection.
At the Institute of Cereal and Oil Crops, the Director of the institute, Li Yan, gave a brief introduction about the institute. The Director of the sweet potato laboratory, Ma Zhimin, made a presentation about his group’s main research progress. The delegation spoke highly of sweet potato and maize varieties and expressed their intention to introduce them.
At the Institute of Vegetables and Medical Herbs, the delegation observed the greenhouse demonstration base of vegetables and showed great interest in new varieties of tomato, cauliflower, eggplant and the potted vegetable technology.
At the Institute of Plant Protection, the delegation visited the biocontrol laboratory and the central laboratory. They also discussed with the staff about scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges.
