December 8 to 15, 2019, Professor Wang Haibo, former vice president of HAAFS, conducted scientific exchange in Italy and Belgium, with Cheng Yudou of Institute of Genetics and Physiology, Geng Lige of Institute of Cereal and Oil Crops and Zhao Yanhua of Institute of Changli Fruit Tree as delegation members. In Italy, the delegation visited the headquarter of Bioversity International and the Institute of BioEconomy of National Research Council of Italy, while in Belgium they visited Bioversity International - Conservation Facilities and the Department of Bioengineering of University of Leuven. By presentations, discussions and tours, the delegation members exchanged information and views with the scientists of the visited units and made better understanding about the latest progresses on conservation technologies for crop genetic resources and fruit post harvest technologies. Meanwhile, collaborative intentions has been reached with the host institutions in the research areas of in vitro conservation of crop genetic resources, ultra-low-temperature conservation technologies and post-harvest technologies.
