On December 18, a technical seminar on preventing and reducing damage of disaster and improving fruit quality of peach was held in Shijiazhuang comprehensive test station of national peach industry technology system. The seminar was held by Institute of Shijiazhuang Fruit Research. More than 40 principals, technicians and fruit growers from 5 demonstration counties attended the seminar.
       
The head of the station MA Zhisheng explained the importance of soil and grass, the effects of organic matter and soil organism on soil structure, nutrient and water. He proposed that fruit growers should enhance the soil management and change the fertilization concept. Through the establishment of the system of “plant-root system-rhizosphere-hyphosphere-soil mass and microorganism”, the utilization efficiency and the fruit quality of peach can be improve.

Researcher WANG Yuehui introduced the prevention and reduction technology of disaster damage in aspects of disease and pest control and defence of disastrous weather. Researcher BAI Ruixia pointed out what should be paid attention to in peach variety selection and recommended several new peach varieties(lines) with great development potential.

During the seminar, participants also shared information on industry situation, problems existed and thoughts of solving the problems.
