On March 25-27, PANG Zhaojin, Director of Institute of Shijiazhuang Fruit Research of HAAFS, led a team of five experts to visit apple orchards in Langfang, Tangshan, and Baoding. They conducted investigation on the development of the local apple industry, the occurrence of diseases and pests, and the application status of green prevention and control technologies, as well as provided on-site guidance on the current work in the orchards.
The expert team visited apple production bases such as Langfang Xingyuan Ecological Park, Tangshan Wolonggu Ecological Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd., and Shun'an Lusheng Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. in Shunping County, Baoding, to conduct specific research on the development status of the apple industry, production input and output in the orchard, fertilizer and water application, fruit sales, main pest and disease occurrence, and prevention and control methods. Director PANG Zhaojin pointed out that the apple industry in Hebei Province is developing rapidly, with significant improvements in fruit yield, quality, and production efficiency. Apple planting has become an important measure to increase the income of local fruit farmers. However, the green prevention and control level of major apple diseases and pests in the three cities still needs to be improved. Prevention of diseases and pests is more important than treatment.
Researcher XU Guoliang emphasized the importance of current garden cleaning and the specific standards and requirements for garden cleaning work. He provided detailed explanations and on-site training on the outbreak and prevention of apple rot disease in spring time, as well as the prevention and control of apple branch ring rot disease. He also put forward targeted suggestions for the selection of pesticides and application technologies for pest and disease control during the growth period.
This research guidance activity has preliminarily clarified the current development status of the apple industry in the three cities, understood the occurrence of major diseases and pests and the application of green prevention and control technologies, and put forward targeted production suggestions. At the same time, it has laid a solid foundation for accurately understanding the occurrence patterns of major apple diseases and pests, effectively formulating and implementing green prevention and control technologies, and promoting the efficient, green, and high-quality development of the apple industry.
