Golden fruit grows on saline-alkali soil

In order to improve the green production and comprehensive benefits of fruits in coastal saline-alkali area of Hebei Province, Institute of Shijiazhuang Fruit Research of HAAFS organized a research team to establish a demonstration base of green production technology of fruits in coastal saline-alkali area in Zhongjie Farm of Huanghua City.In view of the problems of fruit tree industry in saline-alkali land, the team connected with Zhongjie Agricultural Development Co., LTD., combined with local conditions, based on the new varieties, new technologies and new equipment of HAAFS, demonstrated and promoted green production technologies such as apple trunk-shaped high density planting cultivation technology, pear Y-shaped trellis cultivation mode, and fruit tree water saving, fertilizer saving and drug reducing technology, aiming to improve fruit yield and realizing high-quality green fruit production. It was of great significance to improve the quality of fruit products and the income of fruit farmers.

The base demonstrated the Y-shaped trellis cultivation model for pear trees, with the main cultivar being Qiuyue Pear. The fruit trees were in good condition, the orchard was neat and tidy, the tree growth was robust, and there were no obvious pests or diseases. After comprehensive calculations, the fruit of Qiuyue Pear was yellowish-brown in color, round in shape, smooth in surface, sweet in taste. The average soluble solid content was 13.0%, which was 7.4% higher than that of the control. The average number of fruits per plant was 43, the average fruit weight was 365 grams, the yield per mu was 2,582 kilograms, the control yield per mu was 2,309 kilograms, and the yield increase was 11.8%. The pesticide use was reduced by 21.8%, the water use was reduced by 26.5%, the fertilizer use was reduced by 30.0%. The fruit quality met the green standard, and it promoted the farmers' income increase.
