In order to realize the green and low-carbon development of modern agriculture and promote the development of kiwifruit industry in Hebei Province, the biotechnology team of Institute of Shijiazhuang Fruit Research of HAAFS and Hongfeng Planting Cooperative of Xingtang County jointly established kiwifruit green production technology demonstration base.

Through two years of demonstration, the current base demonstration area reached 100 mu, of which more than 80 mu of strong cold tolerant variety Chinese kiwifruit Biyu, and more than 20 mu of Actinidia arguta variety Longcheng No. 2. The main demonstration technologies were "one stem and two vines" standardized cultivation technology, integrated efficient use of water and fertilizer technology, "two first and two later" kiwifruit canker precise prevention and control technology and post-ripe fruit harvest management technology.

Through the demonstration of new technology at the base, the kiwifruit shape was regular and neat, the flesh was delicate, fragrant and juicy. Field inspection results in September 2024 showed that the average soluble solid content of kiwifruit new technology demonstration orchards was 18.6%, which was 5.5% higher than that of control orchards. The average fruit weight was 120.8 grams, the average fruit number per plant was 149, equivalent to 1,995 kg per mu, which was 6.7% higher than that of control orchards. After reviewing the production records and calculating, the irrigation water consumption was reduced by 11.2%, fertilizer by 15.6% and chemical pesticides by 24.3%. The demonstration effect of the green production technology of kiwifruit was remarkable, which has played a strong driving role in the development of kiwifruit industry in Hebei Province.
