The Institute of Cereal and Oil Crops (ICOC) was established in 1970. It primarily focuses on research in the areas of genetic breeding of cereal and oil crops, tillage and cultivation, intelligent equipment, farmland weed prevention and control, and dairy cattle breeding. Additionally, it emphasizes the integration and innovation of application technology in the fields of grain and oil crops, livestock, and poultry in agricultural areas. In the past 3 years, ICOC has achieved 5 significant awards, approved 66 new varieties (with 38 released nationally), obtained 34 new varieties protection and patents, and published 101 high-level papers and academic monographs. At present, ICOC has a total of 132 staff members, which includes 125 professional researchers and 7 technicians. Among them, there are 42 professors and 44 associate professors. ICOC is a well-equipped research institution with a strong focus on various crops and agricultural biological resources. 4 research centers on wheat, corn, soybean, and agricultural biological resources preservation, as well as 8 specialized laboratories focusing on peanut, sweet potato, food legumes, cotton, sesame, crop cultivation, weed control, and dairy cattle research, are owned by ICOC.
