Institute of Plant Protection was founded in 1958. It conducts research on crop pest occurrence and epidemic, mainly develops the quantitative detection technologies for crop pests and investigate the occurrence law for crop diseases and pests; identification the crop resistance for diseases and pests; develop and application environment friendly pesticides and develop integrated control technology system for crop diseases and pests. In the past 3 years, the Institute has undertaken 131 projects and obtained 10 scientific awards, 43 authorized national invention patents, and published 195 academic papers and 6 books. There are 86 employees, including 26 researchers and 29 associate researchers, 2 doctoral supervisors and 10 master supervisors. The Institute builds a scientific and technological team on plant diseases control, plant pests control, pesticide application, agricultural nematodes control, microbial pesticide development, natural enemy insects, and integrated control for plant pests.
