From September 8th to 15th, Dr. Prakit Somta from Kasetsart University of Thailand paid a visit to HAAFS for academic exchange and providing technical guidance on edible bean germplasm resources.
The academic exchange conference on "Edible bean germplasm resources and genetic improvement" was held at the Institute of Cereals and Oil Crop. Focusing on the forefront of technology in edible bean industry, in-depth discussions on key issues such as germplasm resource innovation, stress resistant molecular breeding, and industrial development were conducted during the conference..
Dr. Prakit Somta gave a detailed introduction on the innovative achievements of the molecular mechanisms and breeding applications of mung bean resistance to biotic and abiotic stress in Thailand, titled "Molecular breeding research on stress resistant mung beans in Thailand". This provided valuable international experience for stress resistant mung bean breeding in China.
This exchange meeting has established a high-level academic exchange platform for experts and scholars in the field of edible bean research, and played a positive role in improving the quality, efficiency and high-quality development of Chinese edible bean industry.
