On June 2, 2026, Professor YAN Guijun from the University of Western Australia visited Institute of Changli Fruit Research for academic exchanges. Institute’s Director WANG Guangpeng, Deputy Director ZHANG Xinsheng and key members of scientific research teams participated in the activity.

Professor YAN, drawing from his own scientific research experience, delivered a special report titled "Creating Next-Generation Crops", sharing cutting-edge breeding achievements. He elaborated on the distinct pathways to enhancing breeding efficiency for crops through asexual and sexual reproduction, and provided answers to questions from young scientific and technological personnel. Following the report, Professor YAN visited the institute's history museum, acknowledging the scientific research achievements made by the Institute of Changli Fruit Research in recent years. He then proceeded to the Shigezhuang and Kongzhuang research bases for on-site investigation of innovative achievements in apple, pear, grape, chestnut, and other fruits. In light of international fruit breeding demands, he offered professional guidance and suggestions.

Based on the previous strategic cooperation agreement, both parties have maintained close cooperation over the long term, focusing on core areas such as molecular marker-assisted breeding and key gene mining. Through expert visits and data sharing, joint breeding challenges have been tackled. Professor YAN has long been dedicated to the genetic breeding of flowers, wheat, fruits, and vegetables. This exchange has deepened the cooperation between Institute of Changli Fruit Research and the University of Western Australia, broadened the horizons of scientific researchers, and injected new impetus into fruit tree variety improvement and high-quality industrial development.
