In order to promote the cooperation project between HAAFS and Handan City, and to showcase the achievements of the cotton whole-progress mechanization production technology in demonstration base in Qiuxian, on September 16th, the Institute of Cotton, HAAFS held a "Demonstration and Field Test On-site Meeting for Cotton Whole-Process Mechanization Technology" in Qiuxian County. More than 50 people, including personnel from relevant government departments, research institutes and large-scale growers in Qiuxian County, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, experts and major growers inspected six demonstration fields of cotton whole-progress mechanization in Qiuxian County and conducted on-site field tests in the core demonstration area. In the core demonstration area, new cotton varieties, Jimian 262 and Jimian 3345 were planted, and whole-process mechanization production technologies such as precision sowing, systematically chemical control, fertigation, and unmanned aerial vehicle spraying were applied. The cotton plants were compact, growing well, and had strong bolt-forming ability, which have been highly praised by the experts and large-scale growers present at the meeting. After on-site testing, it was found that the cotton output in the demonstration area not only increased by 10.78% compared with the control group, but also reduced labor by 4 to 6 per mu, saving costs and increasing income by more than 350 yuan per mu.

In 2025, relying on the cooperation project between the institute and Handan City, the Institute of Cotton signed a scientific and technological cooperation agreement with Qiuxian County. It carried out work on cotton whole-progress mechanization production, built a high-standard demonstration zone, formulated a whole-process mechanization implementation plan, organized experts to conduct multiple technical and field guidance sessions, and assisted Qiuxian in improving the downstream industrial chain of cotton planting, including purchasing, flower cleaning, and processing. The large-scale production and mechanization management technology of cotton in Qiuxian have been significantly enhanced. In the future, the Institute of Cotton will further deepen the scientific and technological cooperation between the institute and Handan City, build an innovation highland for the cotton industry based in Qiuxian and facing the whole province, and contribute more scientific and technological strength to the healthy development of the cotton industry and rural revitalization in Handan City and even Hebei Province.
